Allan Baedak – Manager of Creative Services

After graduating from Humber College with a music degree tucked under his arm, Allan Baedak hit the road to become a gigging musician. His talents on keyboard were matched by his ability to take on production responsibilities, and he soon found himself touring eight countries with the world famous touring production, Up With People. Coming off the road in 1986, Allan became operations manager of a mastering and post-audio facility in Toronto, producing entertainment projects for clients such as Sony Records, BMG and Quality Records as well as audio post-production services for the advertising and documentary film industries. After returning to his roots in Vancouver in 1997, Allan founded Words Pictures & Music (WPM), a labour of love as much as an accomplished body of work that melds his expertise in humanities, arts, technology and communication. WPM started with producing live music events and soon grew into producing multi-media products for corporate and non-profit clients. One project that documented the evolution of the new Simon Fraser University campus in Surrey, was a major component to the university’s major gifts campaign.   By the millennium, Allan’s company had expanded to include a state-of-the-art post-production television and recording studio and branched out to producing television and radio commercial campaigns for marketing and advertising agency clients. Allan’s skills extend into all aspects of the digital realm, as he is fully fluent in the major production tools of video, music, multi-media, graphic design, web production and social media. Allan is a dedicated Rotarian.  In 2004, he produced a documentary chronicling the work of Canadian Rotarians in the small Haitian village of Jeremie.  In 2010, he traveled to Haiti to document the lives of the women in the village Duchity, as they struggled to rebuild their community after the devastation of the 2010 earthquake. Recently his work was honoured with a Paul Harris Fellowship by Rotary International. Allan is currently Vice-President, Creative & Technology Services and Managing Partner at IMI and also manages the operations and financial administration of the company. He lives in South Surrey, BC with his family and enjoys playing the occasional gig with his band, Everyday People.
